《苍茫天山》由曾经执导《外来妹》、《绝对梳利》和《荣誉》的著名导演成浩执导，该剧是一部以新疆剿匪为主线的爱国主义影片，讴歌了英雄的中国人民解放军和原新疆民族军，在各族人民的大力支持下歼更叛匪、维护新疆稳定、维护祖国统一的曲折动人的故事，是新疆迄今为止最长的电视剧之一。今年国庆期间，该片将在中央1台黄金时段播出，也是庆祝中华人民共和国成立55周年的重要献礼片。
