　　故事设定于虚构的中世纪末期。在法国的汝拉山脉，有一位名叫艾尔斯的草药医生兼助产士。她和她的年轻学徒妮可在日常诊疗的工作中受到了打扰，因为一个骑马来的陌生人要求把村里所有的女人都聚集在小教堂里。 　　In the French Jura mountains, at the end of fictitious Middle Ages, Else is an herbalist and a midwife. With Nicole, her young apprentice, they are disturbed during their daily practice: a stranger riding a horse demands to gather all the women of the village in its small church.
