该片根据付强第三届冷湖文学奖获奖作品《闭环》改编,不同于此前已播出的《三体》《流浪地球》等硬科幻,《冷湖37°》选择从轻科幻角度出发,集科幻、悬疑、情感等元素于一身。主创团队跳出了科幻的框架,简单的故事表达便已抓住了科幻的本质和观众的看点,影片的重点不在于炫技,而是以此为背景,讲述科技与人性的故事。
