据香港《明报》报道，龚嘉欣、罗天宇2020年12月18日为主演剧集《香港爱情故事》宣传，龚嘉欣大爆罗天宇拍该剧是执二摊（即捡别人不要的），原本男主角不属于罗天宇，但她觉得选择罗天宇十分正确，开拍第2辑男主角非他莫属。龚嘉欣同时表示希望在第2辑里不再有性感演出，希望有多些零妆容演出。
