本片是导演献给新浪潮的诚意之作，讲两个性情迥异，但同样很法国的兄弟。哥哥与同居恋人分手，回到爸爸家里整天自我放逐在床上。弟弟却人见人爱，可以六小时内分别和三个女孩上床，但对个个都是真心。哥哥想死跳落塞纳河，结局却没有他想像的那样。人物都有不可思议的法国性情，但导演没半点造作的真切笔触，将哥的抑郁、弟的狂情都写得很有情味。
