《东视广角》1993年1月25日开播。每周一播出，每次20分钟。该栏目为深度报道性专栏，以播放新闻专题类节目为主。宗旨是围绕新近产生的较有影响的新闻人物和事件，进行深度报道，以补充新闻消息类节目未能涉及的层次和方面。节目注重纪实性、时效性，同时带有评论色彩；形式有热点追踪、焦点评论、专家访谈等。1993年共播出46期，播出量为15小时20分钟。
