电影《梁祝：化蝶》讲述了女扮男装的祝英台在求学途中与梁山伯日久生情，两人试图寻求自由恋爱的道路、冲破封建世俗的枷锁，但无奈以悲剧结尾，两人的爱情感动了上天，最终以化蝶的方式成全了这对璧人。其中梁山伯性格正直善良，自书院与祝英台结下情愫，自此便痴心一片非她不娶，却因祝家反对婚事，最终抑郁成疾，不久身亡，最终与祝英台一同化蝶，双宿双飞。
