《妇产科》以一家地方医院妇产科为背景，通过描写医生、准夫妻等不同的人物面貌，讲述了现代社会的爱情和婚姻以及和怀孕相关的各种小插曲。剧中，张瑞希将饰演才华出众的妇产科医生徐惠英。徐惠英在即将晋升为教授的时候，得知自己意外怀孕的事实，从而陷入深深的苦恼。性格冷静的徐惠英面临堕胎、《母子保健法》的修改等和自己的怀孕、分娩相关的一系列现实性矛盾，并为此而苦恼
