杰拉德·巴特勒将与《天使陷落》导演里克·罗曼·沃夫再度合作，出演后者执导的新片《坎大哈陷落》(Kandahar)。前美军军事情报官员Mitchell LaFortune撰写剧本，根据其真实经历改编，讲述汤姆·哈里斯(巴特勒饰)是一名在中东工作的CIA秘密特工。一份情报的泄露让他秘密执行的任务及身份有暴露的风险。哈里斯被困在敌方的心脏地带，他和他的翻译必须逃离沙漠，前往坎大哈的一个撤离点，同时还要躲避精锐的特种部队的追捕。
