Syfy以12集直接预订动画《外星新闻播报 Alien News Desk》，这部动画由《周六夜现场 Saturday Night Live》的Lorne Michaels﹑Erik Kenward及Dennis McNicholas共同负责。
《外星新闻播报》由《周六夜现场》的前任及现任卡司Will Forte及Heidi Gardner负责配音，内容类似《周末新闻播报 Weekend Update》，讲述一个外星新闻室专为宇宙报导最令人困惑的物种 – 人类。动画里会探用现实新闻，但会加入吐糟或恶搞。Will Forte及Heidi Gardner的配音角色为Drexx Drudlarr与Tuva Van Void。
