在监狱中专门为死刑犯做断头饭的厨子老王，遇到了一位十分奇怪的年轻死囚；与年轻死囚接触之后，老王才得知其有未了的心事。为了让每一个吃到自己所做的最后一餐的死囚，都能不留遗憾的上路，老王决定一路探索寻找死刑犯所说“家乡的味道”……
